Advantage and disadvantage of entrance exams to universities in China and US

As we all know, students who want to go to college must take exams which are called “entrance exams to Universities”. College entrance exams are considered to be the unique approach that the students are admitted by the colleges, and a significant factor that determines a student’s future development. They’re even regarded as one of the turning points in their lives. The similarity of the college entrance exams in China and that in the Western countries is that they are both the ways of selecting students for the colleges.

Well, it's a must door for all the Chinese senior students to the higher education. It may be considered to be too exam-oriented, or too narrow and strict to the students, however it has last for decades. It is actually useful in choosing talented people. To take an even spectacular example, in order to get a good result, students must be hard working, considerable, insistent and knowledgeable, and these, are just what the society needs. In total, everything exists has a reason. I think the exam is workable in some way, but can still be improved.

In China, more than half students take exams on June 17th and 18th, in China. In that day, many students march in the classroom to wait for the examinations. Whatever the weather is hot, they full of confidence and stress to write down their answers. Even though they are ill and cannot give up the test, for they cannot live up to their parents. Because Chinese people have the traditionally put a lot of emphasis on education and families will make the big sacrifices to make sure their children get the best education and the best chance in life. So, regardless of being the parents or the children looks the college entrance examination is very heavy. Of course, the examination is also very important to Americans’ students. Although the college entrance examination has the advantages and disadvantage. Now I will statement my opinion.

First of all, the examination can determined our real ability and manifest fairly. No pains, no gains, the maxim will be shown before our eyes. Many of them have paid difficulty and diligent to reach their hope and expectations. But it sometimes still has not changes the position. Because many students in order to reach their aim, they cheat in college entrance examination. The university entrance exam cheating is still occur from time to time, serious disruption of the examination order, and destroyed the entrance of the fair and equitable. Recently, the Ministry of Education issued a "unified national higher education entrance examination. Examination Work" (hereinafter referred to as "Regulations"), a clear test, marking and other details from the system for the college entrance examination again to add the "insurance valve”.

In addition, The College Entrance Examination has been around in China for nearly 20 years. It helps many people change their life, especially poor students, countryside students. As to these students, the college entrance examination has an important effect on them. Because they only change their fate improve their stander of life by examine, especially the college entrance examination.

However, in respect that the college entrance exams are dog-eat-dog, most students try their best to conquer the exams. But too much pressure is not favorable for the teenagers’ pullulating. The pressure of getting good grades in the exams has made the students study without thinking. They just learn the knowledge but carry it out. To get a bright future, students are forced by parents to study, let alone the curiosity and aspiration to knowledge. In a long term, it is harmful for the further study. So, most students and parents all regard that taking college entrance exams are the most crucial moment in a student’s life.

One of the most serious is that students in different districts have to face different policies when they go to college. Some big cities like Beijing and Shanghai have more colleges than other places, so students there may have more chances to go to a good college. They can go to the same college with a much lower mark. While students who are from some poor districts or countries are more difficult to go to there. They face many difficulties when they are in the high school and they have to face more troubles when going to colleges. It's unfair for the students who come from less developed places.

If China doesn't stop such things from happening, there will be more people who can't do their best to make a contribution. But in US the situation is better than China. ACT (American College Test) is equal the college entrance examination.

In China, the college entrance examination virtually can select talents from so many students, but not all the talented students can do well in the exam. Thus, it is to some degree not as equal as we expected. It needs efforts and also good luck. The examination gives students too much pressure and burden. Teachers always take exam-oriented educational form. In US, they can select talents from so many students. Because some students are directly selected without examines. And their examination named ACT; it combined the theory with the practical, moreover test nimble. So, the examination in US is more advantageous than disadvantageous. Thus china should reform the system of the college entrance examination and make it suits the modern society.

In conclusion, most students and parents all regard that taking college entrance exams are the most crucial moment in a student's life. In contrary, some people think it is important but vital and unchangeable. Different people have different opinion, coins have two sides. Every road leads to Rome, so with great efforts, anyone can success at any time. The failure in the college entrance exams is never the terminal of your life, and maybe it is just the beginning of changing the direction of your career.…...

However, technology won’t stop here, but develop further. As technology develops, there are not only advantages, but disadvantages from them. A few advantages of upgraded technology are that one can save time and money and life will be made easier as a result of not having to do all the hard labor. In contrast, the disadvantages of upgraded technology are that people will loose their jobs to machines that will do the work for them. In addition, machines and robots are too complex for most people to use. I personally would want a developed world with advanced technologies. The following are the reasons why I do want a more advanced world with advanced technologies. My major reason is because when you have advanced technologies, life is much easier as robots and machines would take over your daily life chores. For example, daily life chores might be serving your breakfast, cutting your lawn, or cleaning your room. With robots and machines doing one’s chores one has time to relax. Advantages and Disadvantages of Pursing an Mba

...Advantages and Disadvantages of Pursuing an MBA Advantages and Disadvantages of Pursing an MBA The decision to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration is a difficult, personal decision. In fact, I categorize it as a life changing decision. For instance, this decision is like most major decisions people make. Whether the decision is over buying a home, changing careers, starting a family or buying that dream car, it is usually laced with advantages and disadvantages, pros and cons, and benefits and consequences. Whether or not those advantages and disadvantages are tangible, quantifiable and measurable, most would agree that they exist and they sometimes have life changing affects. For example, some people think that it is a disadvantage to buy a home because it usually results in one securing a long-term loan whereby a monetary commitment is required from the borrower or homeowner. If this commitment is broken or one is unable to pay as agreed, the borrower or homeowner can lose valuable assets, seriously hinder their ability to borrow money in the future and be looked upon by the banking and financial community as a liability or risk. On the other hand, or some of the advantages of buying a home may result in credit worthiness, proves that you are trustworthy, disciplined and according to Weintrub (2010), “gives one a sense of pride in ownership, stability and security” (para. 2.).
