Advantages MAC
1. Mac UI is geared towards simplicity. It employs the best possible design principles with its hallmark minimal UI concept that apple has mastered over decades. As a result users have a short learning curve.
2. It is built upon the Unix core which is known for its security features. Its extremely difficult to install a Virus on a Mac unless the user specifically grants it Root privileges.

...ADVANTAGES OF WINDOWS XP & MAC OS X MAC OS X | WINDOWS XP | Mac OS X has a simple, easy-to-use interface perfect for Technophobic, Kids, and Geeks alike. It's easy enough for the home user and powerful enough for the programmers. | It was the first operating system produced by MS built on the Windows NT architecture. | Mac computers overall last longer (in years) than Windows PCs, and they can be sold on eBay for a big portion of what you paid for them. (Sometimes up to 3/4 of what you spent on it can be gotten back by selling it) | Windows XP presents a significantly redesigned and much user friendly graphical user interface. | If you need to run a Windows program, you can run Boot Camp on all Leopard Intel Macs and install Windows on your Mac. When you need a Windows program, just reboot into Windows. When you're done, you can reboot back into Mac OS X. You can even run Mac and Windows applications at the same time with software like VMware Fusion or Parallels. | Runs on a far larger range of computers. OS X is specifically tailored to certain hardware configurations, so not only will it not support some of the hardware on a computer other than a Mac, it won't even boot on them. XP will run on almost every computer with an Intel or AMD processor from 1998 to the present. | Contrary to popular belief, Macs can run many games out for PC without the need to use Boot Camp, Parallels, or VMware Fusion. | Cost. Mac vs. Windows Essay

...between Macintosh and Windows. Macintosh is a sophisticated system of computers with great performance and very easy to use. Windows as well is very sophisticated, is the best-known system in the market and with a lot of variety. In my opinion I prefer to use Macintosh, because it is simpler and more reliable. Generally most of the people have a Windows based computer. This computer systems work like in the same way, just with a few differences. Most of the people know how to use a windows based computer, but when you get a Macintosh is very different from the windows. One big problem that Windows have is the viruses, unlike Macintosh, this computer rarely get viruses. A good thing is that Windows have a lot of software as opposed to Macintosh. Macintosh have something called “Finder” were you can search in all of your files, and works really good, on the contrary of Windows. There are tons of games for Windows; you can buy it even in Wal-Mart different from Macintosh, which is harder to find games. One big issue that everybody complains, it is price of Macintosh. I know that the Macintosh computers are expense, but it is a good inversion. For example the MacBook Pro of 13 inches cost one thousand dollars, on the other hand the Sony VAIO of 17 inches is only five hundred dollars. The quality of the materials in the MacBook are outstanding, they made them of aluminum so they are more durable, thinner and lighter unlike the plastic cases from the most Windows......

Statistic, Use of Mac and Window

...SIM’s existing hardware infrastructure does not support the use of a Macbooks (or Macs for short). This report sets out to investigate whether or not SIM’s Integrated Information Technology Services (IITS) department should seriously consider updating the university’s hardware to keep up with SIM students changing usage. A statistical analysis of our findings is conducted. Based on anecdotal observations, we hypothesized that 30% of the school population use an Apple Macbook. We then carefully conducted an online survey of 51 SIM students, ensuring a stratified sampling which reflects the distribution of the university’s student population. After conducting an upper tailed one-sample z test, we obtained sufficient evidence to reject our null hypothesis. Based on our proportionate sample, we found out that more than 30% of our school population use an Apple Macbook. The large proportion of students using Apple Macbooks warrant an initiative by IITS to equip and update the school infrastructure with Mac-friendly software and hardware. The preference for an Apple Macbook has transformed it from an exotic choice to a popular choice chosen by the school population. We recommend IITS to embark on a feasibility study immediately to update the school’s firmware to support the Mac platform 1. Introduction: The Problem SIM's existing hardware infrastructure does not support the use of Macs. Students rely heavily on laptops to get their university course work done.......

Advantages and Disadvantages of Windows Server 2008 Server Core and Virtual Servers

...In this Analysis assessment I'm going to explain some advantages and disadvantages of windows server 2008 server core and virtual servers. What environments windows server core installation ideal, and I will explain if the security benefits of a core server outweigh the lack of a Graphical User Interface (GUI). I also will go through some advantages and disadvantages of implicating a virtual server in a live network. Finally I will be giving my response to this statement “The drawback of virtual servers is the loss of a physical machine that can lead to the loss of numerous virtual servers and numerous services on the network. Some advantages of a Windows Server 2008 Server Core installation is, greater stability, with less resources taken up versus a full server installation you have more resources for your server to manage only things you need it to manage. Simplified management, compared to a full server installation you have much less installed on your server. This makes it much easier to manage and configure. Reduction in maintenance, this means fewer hot fixes for roles/services you aren’t using so this means theirs much less to maintain. The reduction in the amount of memory and hard disk requirements, install what you need and leave out what you don’t need. You don’t want anything to take up your precious resources that you’re not even using in your server. Finally reduced attack surface, with less installed on your server there are less services to be targeted to an...

Advantages and Disadvantages of Technology

...Advantages and Disadvantages of Advanced Technology By Jin Sun K., Wellesley, MA Email me when Jin S. contributes work Today, we can’t imagine ourselves without technological advances such as cars, microwaves, cell phones, computers, and televisions. However, technology won’t stop here, but develop further. As technology develops, there are not only advantages, but disadvantages from them. A few advantages of upgraded technology are that one can save time and money and life will be made easier as a result of not having to do all the hard labor. In contrast, the disadvantages of upgraded technology are that people will loose their jobs to machines that will do the work for them. In addition, machines and robots are too complex for most people to use. I personally would want a developed world with advanced technologies. The following are the reasons why I do want a more advanced world with advanced technologies. My major reason is because when you have advanced technologies, life is much easier as robots and machines would take over your daily life chores. For example, daily life chores might be serving your breakfast, cutting your lawn, or cleaning your room. With robots and machines doing one’s chores one has time to relax. Another reason is because unlike humans, robots and machines do not make mistakes when programmed correctly. They always accomplish tasks perfectly so you won’t have to worry about making a mistake and getting trouble. Other reasons why I want......

Advantages and Disadvantages of Java V.Net

...Advantages and Disadvantages of Java v. .NET University of Phoenix CSS/422 .NET and Java There is no shortage of definitions for software architecture but in a general sense it is the blueprint for a system, its properties and the relationships among all of the elements. It specifies all of the actions to be taken by the design and implementations teams. There are various differences between .NET and Java Technology so there are certainly advantages and disadvantages to using one or the other as software architecture. The choice, however, depends on the scope of the project and the skill of the design team. Both .NET and Java have platforms that offer a good solid foundation for project design. Java Technology is the choice of many developers because of its work-saving features and ease of use. “.NET and web services are tightly integrated and it is easier to create a basic web service in .NET” (Ranck, 2002). Advantages A major advantage of .NET is that it allows for the use of multiple languages and horizontal scalability. This feature makes it an ideal choice by developers for software architecture if they want to write programs in C++, Java or Virtual Basic because it provides a unified environment in which to work. It is easily developed and supported. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Java which is limited to use with the Java programming language only. Another advantage of .NET is that the interface is......

Windows Mac Linux Security

...Security Mac Viruses Many Mac users believe their systems are impervious to threats. This is a naïve falsity of course because no computer system is invulnerable. It is a known fact that Windows can be very prone to virus infections, but since there are so little Mac viruses, people like to get it in their heads that it isn’t possible. Mac OS X is built on the UNIX kernel, one of the most secure operating systems. UNIX creates a file system in which the user isn’t the most powerful role on the computer and needs root permission to really make any major changes. It is technically more secure, but the only other real benefit is that Apple doesn’t populate a large percentage of the PC marketplace. Apple used to encourage this way of thinking, but after the Flashback virus (Perlroth, 2012), they decided it wasn’t a good idea to lie to their customers. Apple replaced their “Why you’ll love a Mac” website containing “It doesn’t get PC viruses” to “It’s built to be safe” (Mlot, 2012). Since malware really only exploits existing bugs or holes in an operating system, it is up to Apple to fix those holes, and they do a pretty good job of it. But in any case, it’s better to be safe than sorry. Some pretty good Mac antivirus include MacKeeper, Kaspersky, and Trend Micro (Sutherland, 2014). Preventative Maintenance With the threats to OS X made real, there are some simple tricks to keep a Mac up and running. The first of which is the ever-important data backup. Time Machine, is......

The Diference in Window, Linux and Mac Os

...hardware upgrades and updates occur. It acts as in intermediary between programs and the computer hardware. Windows is a series of operating systems released by Microsoft. It was created through a partnership formed between Paul Allen and Bill Gates in 1975. Originally, Windows was simply a GUI that was loaded on top of MS-DOS. But with the advent of Windows 95, Windows became an all-in-one operating system. Windows incorporates many applications including a web browser (Internet Explorer), a word processor (WordPad), a command line interface (Command Prompt), a file managing application (Windows Explorer), and much more. Linux was originally developed as a free operating system and can be downloaded by anyone. It’s a system that allows you to run applications and perform desired functions on your computer. Originally, Linux was designed as an alternative operating system to Windows; however, they are meant to run on PCs, gaming consoles, DVRs, mobile phones, and many other devices. Android, which is a widely used operating system for mobile devices, is built on top of the Linux kernel. GNOME is a graphical user interface that runs on top of the Linux operating system, it consists solely of free and open source software. Its emphasis is on simplicity and accessibility. One company does not own Linux or update Linux. Instead, it’s a community of developers. The Mac OS X is the operating system that could be run only on Macintosh computers that had Motorola processors.......

Windows vs Mac Os

...use Mac OS on a Macintosh, or you can also install Windows OS on it. Mac OS and Windows are the two most popular operating systems for computers known to beings. The rivalry among the two is much older than you can imagine. It all began when Apple released Macintosh in 1984, and Bill Gates released Windows in the following year. This is when the computer generation was born and door to technology opened. Since then, we are bombarded with information comparing one operating system to another. Frankly, these two operating systems have much more in common than they do in difference. Each has its own set of pros and cons, but they share many of the core features that define a computer operating system in a modern era. If I were to pick one operating system between the two, I would be better served out by having the similarities pointed out first rather than the differences. Let’s take a moment to move past this vs. that way of thinking and look into what is similar between the two operating systems. Like, both operating systems have a robust set of integrated drivers that enable a wide range of external accessories to work flawlessly out of the box. Installing software or applications on any of them isn’t a problem now, because now usually they are made for both operating systems. The elements of the user interface are mostly common too, only the placement of them differs. E.g. the title bar buttons are on the left in a Mac, while they are on the right in Windows.......

Advantages and Disadvantages of Globalization

...the emerging global economy and establish themselves in other countries’ mar-kets. They adapt their products or services to the linguistic and cultural requirements of foreign nations. One of the best adapting companies is McDonald’s. It adapts its menu to different cultures by for example offering rice in Asia or the Big Maharaja in India. Besides the wealth of a country can be measured with the “Big Mac Index”, that first first published in 1986 by “The Economist”. At social and cultural level globalization means that countries all over the world become more and more interdependent in many possible ways. There is probably no area of human activities left that is not affected by globalization. People listen to the same music, eat the same food, wear the same clothes, and decide ecological and war and peace issues together. 2 Results of Globalization This chapter is the assignment’s main chapter and deals with the results of globalization. To have a better structure the chapter is divided into two parts: the advantages and the disadvantages of globalization. 2.1 Advantages of Globalization Many proponents of global business argue that mutual benefits derive from the global specialization of products and services. The general stance is that the benefits of global-ization outweigh the economic and social costs by achieving higher efficiency and by providing GDP growth in underdeveloped regions. The thesis of increasing wealth for developing countries is often......

My paper will explain and highlight many advantages and disadvantages of technology on society. It will discuss some ways it can hinder reputations and how private matters can become public property because of technology. My paper will also reveal how technology can bring people closer together, although many people may beg to differ. Today’s society is driven and greatly influenced by technology. This can be a beneficial fact, and it can also be detrimental and yield major problems. Whether one is using a digital camera in order to snap a photo of a precious moment, or whether one is sneaking and videotaping an embarrassing video that will last forever, these are components of technology that effect society because it effects people. Advantages and Disadvantages of Pursing an Mba

...Advantages and Disadvantages of Pursuing an MBA Advantages and Disadvantages of Pursing an MBA The decision to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration is a difficult, personal decision. In fact, I categorize it as a life changing decision. For instance, this decision is like most major decisions people make. Whether the decision is over buying a home, changing careers, starting a family or buying that dream car, it is usually laced with advantages and disadvantages, pros and cons, and benefits and consequences. Whether or not those advantages and disadvantages are tangible, quantifiable and measurable, most would agree that they exist and they sometimes have life changing affects. For example, some people think that it is a disadvantage to buy a home because it usually results in one securing a long-term loan whereby a monetary commitment is required from the borrower or homeowner. If this commitment is broken or one is unable to pay as agreed, the borrower or homeowner can lose valuable assets, seriously hinder their ability to borrow money in the future and be looked upon by the banking and financial community as a liability or risk. On the other hand, or some of the advantages of buying a home may result in credit worthiness, proves that you are trustworthy, disciplined and according to Weintrub (2010), “gives one a sense of pride in ownership, stability and security” (para. 2.). With the above mention in mind, I will explore my personal advantages and......
