Evaluate a famous action adventure movie and explain why it works for the audience
The Lord of the Rings series is one of the most famous action adventure movies of its time and is an acclaimed classic as well. It is an epic tale of action and adventure that goes far and beyond cultural boundaries and leads the audience to a mythical world that is suspended between the world we know and the fantasy we all wish we lived in. This movie has gained international fame and set a benchmark for the action adventure/ fantasy genre with its classic good versus evil plot, the mythical references and the magical realism that is artistically woven into the plot. The film is inspired by the series of books written J.R Tolkien and according to the author, he created ‘a secondary creation' that became reality that pulled the audience in as soon as they start watching the movie.
Another reason why this movie was a ground breaking success is that it offers detailed battle scenes, hand to hand combat, thrill, suspense and a splash of romance on the side. Let’s not forget the mind blowing locations, costume and the superb animation that never fails to amaze the viewers of all ages. The audience is captivated by the conflict that arises in the main plot and spreads through the various subplots that are introduced in the later parts of the movie. Each aspect of the storyline is given due homage by the actors. The Middle world also takes on a universal appearance with which the audience can relate to on a personal and political level. The subliminal messages that the movie propagates so successfully and in such a powerful manner is another huge factor that plays well in the movie’s fame.
Lord of the Rings works for the audience because it presents fantasy in a very realistic package. The human emotions of fear, courage, friendship and power are delivered perfectly making the movie…...

...carefully examined the outcomes of the JAD session that focused on defining the system structure of the WebStore. From this analysis, he identified six highlevel processes that would become the foundation of the level-0 DFD. These processes, listed in Table 6-4, were the “work” or “action” parts of the Web site; note that these processes correspond to the major processing items listed in the system structure. Next, Jim determined that it would be most efficient if the WebStore system exchanged information with existing PVF systems rather than capturing and storing redundant information. This analysis concluded that the Web- Store should exchange information with the Purchasing Fulfillment System—a system for tracking orders (discussed in Chapter 3)—and the Customer Tracking System (discussed in Chapter 4). These two existing systems will be “sources” (providers) and “sinks” (receivers) of information for the WebStore system. When a customer opens an account, his or her information will be passed from the WebStore system to the Customer Tracking System. When an order is placed (or when a customer requests status information on a prior order), information will be stored in and retrieved from the Purchasing Fulfillment System. Finally, Jim found that the system would need to access two additional data sources. First, in order to produce an online product catalog, the system would need to access the inventory database. Second, to store the items a......

Adventures

...You don’t know about me, without you have read a book by the name of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer; but that ain’t no matter. That book was made by Mr. Mark Twain, and he told the truth, mainly. There was things which he stretched, but mainly he told the truth. That is nothing. I never seen anybody but lied one time or another, without it was Aunt Polly, or the widow, or maybe Mary. Aunt Polly—Tom’s Aunt Polly, she is—and Mary, and the Widow Douglas is all told about in that book, which is mostly a true book, with some stretchers, as I said before. Now the way that the book winds up is this: Tom and me found the money that the robbers hid in the cave, and it made us rich. We got six thousand dollars apiece—all gold. It was an awful sight of money when it was piled up. Well, Judge Thatcher he took it and putit out at interest, and it fetched us a dollar a day apiece all the year round—more than a body could tell what to do with. The Widow Douglas she took me for her son, and allowed she would sivilize me; but it was rough living in the house all the time, considering how dismal regular and decent the widow was in all her ways; and so when I couldn’t stand it no longer I lit out. I got into my old rags and my sugar-hogshead again, and was free and satisfied. But Tom Sawyer he hunted me up and said he was going to start a band of robbers, and I might join if I would go back to the widow and be respectable. So I went back. The widow she cried over me, and......

Movie Review

...Hancock Being a movie fanatic, life is measured by when the next big movie release is going to be. One of the movies I have been looking forward to for a while was Hancock. Unfortunately, the movie was released in theatres during the summer when I was visiting Hong Kong and by the time I got back, it wasn’t in theatres anymore so I had to wait for the movie to be released on DVD. The movie is directed by Peter Berg and stars Will Smith and Charlize Theron. The movie takes place in modern day Los Angeles and revolves around an alcoholic superhero named Hancock that doesn’t care about his appearance and seen as a homeless, played by Will Smith. Unfortunately, due to his alcoholic problems, when he is saving people and taking out criminals, he causes a lot of property damage and puts other civilians in danger, which makes the citizens of Los Angeles somewhat despise him. The beginning of the movie follows Hancock in his adventures around Los Angeles bringing criminals to justice while causing a lot of destruction along the way. The movie then goes to another main character; a public relations manager played named Ray Embrey who just unsuccessfully tried to pitch a new charity logo to some corporate executives and is on his way home when he gets stuck on some train tracks while a train is coming. Hancock then comes just in time to save him, but derails the train in the process. The people around the scene start to boo him, but Ray thanks him for saving his life and......

Ballooning is a sport which has a lot of scope for adventure; of course it is only for those who can afford it, being a costly proposition. The element of risk is always there with the change of weather and balloons filled with helium prone to lightning and leaks. One can imagine the thrill of rising high into the sky without the drone of an engine and with the advantage of being able to control the direction. The risk factor also is great like the attempts at crossing the Atlantic where these contraption have fallen into oceans after facing turbulent weather or landed on top of mountains with the occupant not equipped to get down to inhabited areas. Speed Boating, Car Racing, Buggy Jumping aster all very adventurous sports, enjoyed by thousands of enthusiasts, the world over. There are some......
