...result in an agreement, and decrease it if negotiations fail. Uncertainty tolerant traders are not particularly distrusting, and trust will develop through repeated transactions. They will trace now and then, with decreasing frequency as trust develops. Revealed deceit will of course reduce trust and increase the frequency of tracing. Truthful or untruthful delivery. After an agreement has been reached, it comes to delivery. If the quality of the commodity is invisible at first sight, the supplier can be opportunistic and try to deliver a lower quality product than agreed upon, thus making an extra profit. An uncertainty tolerant trader may be tempted to do so, calculating the risk of being exposed as a deceiver and the damage that would do to his reputation and future trading opportunities. An uncertainty avoiding trader may have a lot of rules and contracts that forbid defecting, but that does not mean that he will follow the rules. Depending on the other dimensions of culture, traders from uncertainty avoiding cultures may just as easily or even more defect than uncertainty tolerant, especially when dealing with out-group partners. Trust or distrust. An uncertainty avoiding trader does not expect the rules to be broken and will trust, unless he is dealing with a stranger. A new partner will be distrusted until sufficient evidence for the contrary has been found. In uncertainty tolerant societies, the other dimensions of culture determine the level of trust. The rules......

Why I Want to Join College

...science and technology are rapidly developing. In fact, people's lives are dependent on education as it provides them with the necessary skills to survive and adapt to today's ever-changing world. A college education is something that I have personally wanted for a long time. None of my family members had the opportunity to go to college, simply because they could not afford it. I am blessed enough to have many years of professional work experience, but sadly without a college degree I feel that my resume is missing a vital and key element to further my career.  When I was in high school, I often questioned the importance of a college education. I felt that if I just passed my classes, I would be fine. My parents never went to college, so I never felt the pressure or need for an academic degree. I was wrong. In this economic climate, I have learned that having a college education is vital to your career. Adding a college education to my resume will benefit me throughout the rest of my life - personally, professionally and socially. It will open many doors and allow me to explore a myriad of options. Combined with my professional work experience, a college degree can lead me to a prosperous career in my field of study. In today’s bleak market, I am much more likely to find a position at a great company with an academic degree on my resume rather than with just a high school diploma. Most employers require their employees to have a college education.  So, why is a......

...This is a test. I am trying to get some help with some of my work. I started school late and now I have been playing catch up. I came across this website and it seemed that I could use this website as a helping point in which I can look and refer to what ever I was doing at that time. Now, being that I have seen some of the articles that has graced your website, I would like to become a member because this seems like a good point of reference for me. So, in order to use the full capabilities of this website, I need to download a document. Now, at this present time, I have no documents to upload. So I will upload this so I can become a member and be able to utilize this website as my personal reference when I need it. In the near future, I plan to upload some of my work in order to satisfy this upload trial that I am being forced to upload just to become a member. So far, this website has helped me out greatly and I am hoping that once this group of words will be sufficient enough to allow me access to this site. Like I said earlier, this site will only be used as a reference due to some of the essays and assignments were done by students that were doing it before me. For all I know, their info may be wrong. That’s why I trust no work other than my own. Like I said before, this site will only be used as my reference. Thank you ....

Answer Human Resource Dilemma, Ch. 7 #5, p.187 (Emmanuel Abrams) When the EEOC receives a charge of discrimination is when the process begins. An initial review occurs and then an investigation. A letter of determination is issued stating what determination was made. If the EEOC determines there is discrimination present the EEOC can either step in and mediate with the company or if the company is not willing to do so the EEOC will then issue a right to sue notice. That is when the litigation will proceed. 5. Answer Human Resource Dilemma, Ch. 9 #4, p.237 (Sun Loo Chan) Sun Loo Chan has already completed the first step by going to his manager to complain. ...Opportunities 10 Organizational Threats 10 Leadership Evaluation 11 Leadership Strengths 11 Leadership Weaknesses 13 Recommendations for Leadership Development 14 Organization Overview Organizational overview provides a framework of the organization. It would ideally be a catalogue all necessary information that would help an external party to assess the organizational fit in a better way and understand whether he/she is in total sync with the organizational goals and the other beneficiaries. The organizational overview addresses the following: * The mission and the history * The stakeholders * The goals and the programs * The budget * The outcomes and the achievements * The sponsors or the funders. I have chosen Salesforce.com as the organization for my analysis and believe that the description provided would help in giving a better understanding of the organization for any third party considering a position with the organization. This organization was developed about fifteen years ago with the objective of bringing together better and reinvented customer relationship management services (CRM) using the mechanism of cloud computing. They have revolutionized the process of CRM, and the way they have incorporated the entire system in cloud computing led to the foundation of a path breaking philanthropic model for them to follow. It eventually went on to become the leading enterprise in cloud ecosystems. With this system, industries......

...over. This part of computer history is called the "history of automated calculation," which is a fancy phrase for "the history of machines that make it easy for me to do this same maths problem over and over without making mistakes." The abacus, the slide rule, the astrolabe and the Antikythera mechanism (which dates from about 150-100 BC) are examples of automated calculation machines. Programming Main page: Computer programming Some people did not want a machine that would do the same thing over and over again. For example, a music box is a machine that plays the same music over and over again. Some people wanted to be able to tell their machine to do different things. For example, they wanted to tell the music box to play different music every time. They wanted to be able to program the music box- to order the music box to play different music. This part of computer history is called the "history of programmable machines" which is a fancy phrase for "The history of machines that I can order to do different things if I know how to speak their language." One of the first examples of this was built by Hero of Alexandria (c. 10–70 AD). He built a mechanical theater which performed a play lasting 10 minutes and was operated by a complex system of ropes and drums. These ropes and drums were the language of the machine- they told what the machine did and when. Some people argue that this is the first programmable machine.[1] Most historians agree that the "castle......

...absolutely critical that the law enforcement of the United States stay one step ahead of this growing enterprise in order to mitigate the dangerous effects that is has on society such as addiction, murder, and prostitution to name a few. Among the many agencies tasked with the responsibility of combating this threat is the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency or (DEA). Most people are familiar with this organization by popular television shows such as “Cocaine Cowboys”, but these programs although entertaining do not do justice as to what the agency is all about. Therefore the purpose of this paper is to shed more light on this agency pertaining to its origins, missions, and activities. In addition I will also provide my reasons as to why I want to join this agency, the qualifications, and what I have done so far to prepare myself for this endeavor. In order to discover the origins of the DEA one must first comb through its history. Before the DEA existed, in the 1915’s there were a number of agencies tasked with combating the drug problem. As time went on though in the early 1960’s these multiple agencies were narrowed down to two organizations whose sole responsibility were to enforce the law on drugs. These two organizations were called the “Bureau of Drug Abuse Control (BDAC) and the Federal Bureau of Narcotics (FBN)” (deamuseum.org). In the 1960’s drugs were slowly starting to make their way into becoming a big problem, it wasn’t until the 1970’s though that......

...Module 1 Lab Report For this module, I have chosen the movie Taken to analyze. In it, Bryan Mills’ teenage daughter, Kim, travels to Paris with a friend to follow a band on tour. Shortly after arriving, the two share a taxi with a stranger who works in a human trafficking ring. The two are profiled and abducted soon after, but Kim is on the phone with her father at the time of the abduction. Using very limited clues and training as an ex-CIA operative, he tracks down these men all over Europe and rescues his daughter. This modern-day myth shares a very powerful cultural truth-value that we can see in ancient myths such as The Iliad and The Odyssey. The characters in these stories are driven by a strong love for somebody else and will do anything for those they love. This is true in society today, as we would do anything for those we love. In Taken, we only see this portrayed in one character. In these other myths, however, we see a multitude of heroes perform grand acts for those they love. In The Iliad, Menelaus brings together the Achaean armies to attack and conquer the mighty city of Troy for one reason: Love. His beloved wife, Helen, had been taken away by Paris of Troy to be his wife. In an effort to save his wife, he traveled across dangerous land and oceans to Troy where the Greeks fought in a war for 10 years. If not for love, a 10 year war because of a single man’s desire would seem absolutely absurd. However, we all can sympathize with Menelaus because we......

...“I WANT YOU FOR THE U.S. ARMY!” Now, what would you do if someone were to ask you this? Or if you seen it out in town on a poster? Would you pay any attention to it or just walk on by? Most people would honestly just walk on by, unless, there was something in that particular poster that had caught their attention. Recruiting ads have changed over the years, but this one was popular. This particular recruiting advertisement was an effective argument because of their slogan, Uncle Sam, his stare, his point, and the use of America’s colors; red, white, and blue. I would say this particular recruiting image was for men or boys. Back then it were only the men or boys who could actually join the army. So, this poster excluded any women and girls because they were not allowed to join. The main targeted audience for this was for the younger men and boys, and for more than one reason. The younger they are, the more apt they are to be healthier. The army wants them to be younger because they can move more quickly and act upon things faster than someone who is older. They also want the men who don’t already have a family started because then they won’t have that worry while out in battle and can focus better on what they need to do. Where is the place where you see most advertisements for things? Out in town, right? This image was more than likely posted out in town on public buildings as well, that is where most of a town’s population goes for many different reasons. Having it out......

...higher prices went. Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich went off the deep end with a program guaranteeing mortgage loans for illegal aliens. The peak of insanity was when Alphonso Jackson, Housing and Urban Development Secretary actually went so far as to send this message to private sub-prime lenders: 'I am absolutely emphatic about winning back our share of the market that has slipped away to subprime lenders.' Look at the insanity. Government was talking about winning market share from the private sector on housing. Then of course we have Bush's Ownership Policy making renters feel like second class citizens. Government has no business promoting one form of housing over another. The Fed's role in this was slashing interest rates to 1 percent in an inane attempt to prevent deflation in the aftermath of the last recession. At the same time Greenspan openly endorsed ARMs right at the bottom of interest rate yields. Greenspan is a man who was wrong at every major turn. History will not treat him kindly. The role of consumer greed should be obvious. How long will it be before housing finally hits bottom? And where will prices decline the most? It took Japan 18 years to hit bottom. I suspect it will take at least 5 to 7 here and 5 is very optimistic. It could easily take 10 years or more. My best guess is 7 but it all depends on what the Fed does to fight it. Ironically enough, the more the Fed fights it the longer it will take. That is what happened in Japan and it will likely......
