Determine how innovations in employee benefits can improve the overall competitive compensation strategy of the organization. Business leaders charged to remain competitive within their industries are discovering a corresponding need to develop and implement programs to develop the competitiveness of their employees within their fields. They are discovering that in order to attract and keep the best employees, they will have to offer these employees opportunities for educational and vocational development that address the need to remain relevant and aggressive in pursuing their career goals. The main objective of compensation strategy is to provide or create an optimal and significant rewards package in anticipation of enticing and rewarding certain employee behaviors. When developing or making improvements to employee benefit programs, companies should compare the benefit packages to competitors. The best benefits are the ones desired by the workforce and are competitive in the marketplace. Compensation strategy can reinforce the organizational culture that the company desires to promote. In the public sector, many aspects of employee compensation is governed by legislation. In most cases, there is not much room for innovative ideas in formulating compensation strategy. It is a fruitless and unworthy effort…...

...One day the management calls and offers him to sign a new contract whereby the bonus will be based on performance which the amount is yet to be decided by the management. In this situation, the bonus may be given a month bonus or no bonus at all. If this employee signs, he will lose his 2 months bonus in agreeing with the performance based bonus. In addition to that, the term and condition will be changed. In the earlier context of contractual basis, the employee may not perform beyond the management’s expectancy. For example, he may choose to come late, carrying out his duty very slowly, behave rudely to the customers and etc. Furthermore, his performance appraisal will be based on salary only and the incremental for the performances annually is not as much in sense might be around RM80. This is different in the case of performance based bonus which is dubbed as “1 time”. The performance is assessed by his or her supervisor or immediate boss. Let say he used to came to work late, rude to customer, work slowly or sometimes the supervisor perceive his subordinate engage longer with customers which the supervisor evaluate as poor performance. Thus, the supervisor misjudges and misinterprets his subordinate’s behavior which in reality does not realize that his subordinate was actually performing his duty that was assigned. With the negative assumption, the supervisor may give low appraisal resulting lower reward in term of bonus. His bonus may decline from RM4,......

Xeco/212 Week 5 - a New House

...Week 5 – A New House – Risks & Benefits Kathleen Butcher XECO/212 – Principles of Economics 02/9/13 Tonya Wilhelm When purchasing a new home there are many things to consider. Reviewing the risks and benefits when thinking about making a life changing purchase of buying a home can help you determine when is the right time for you. There are multiple government departments that can impact the national fiscal policies but the one that has the potential for the biggest impact is the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve is the one that decides if the interest rates increase or decrease based on what the market is doing. There are multiple policies that can have an influence on the different parts to consider in buying a home, such as, mortgage rates, housing starts, and housing prices. The first thing to look at as a consumer is the lending rates. This rate helps lenders decide if they will borrow money from the Federal Reserve to have money to put into mortgages and housing starts.  The higher the interest rates, the higher the cost of buying a home will be. If the interest rates get to be too high, the housing market will become stagnant and cause issues in the economy. The suggestion that I would give to someone looking at buying a home would be to analyze the risks and benefits of purchasing a home. There are so many considerations to take into account for first time buyers and people looking to refinance. When purchasing a home there are people......

Rewards

...COMM/112 July 25, 2013 Non-Monetary Rewards in the Workplace Incentives are utilizable tools that are used as motivational mechanisms. Incentives are also used for and applied to any aspect of the everyday life as a form to keep the individual who is striving for it the will and the motivation to keep on reaching for the goal. Individuals can even make use of incentives on themselves, for example if an individual wants to stick to a workout regimen that he or she has formulates for him or herself but is finding it hard to keep with the specified routine. That individual can devise an incentive plan that states if he or she sticks with the workout plan, he or she may go purchase for themselves a new outfit. This same proposal can be applied to incentives or rewards in the workplace. Monetary rewards and incentives works wonders in the workplace, for instance programs that employers offer in order to boost the performance levels of their employees while at the same time in return offering employees bonuses, paid vacations, cash rewards and etc. At the same time while employers offer monetary based rewards non-monetary rewards can be just as effective, while delivering more a powerful and consistent outcome with less of a financial impact. The idea of rewarding employees on a regular basis is very becoming in the business world today, the empowerment that it brings to each individual employee is priceless, which is why simple acts can go a long way at the......

According in Behlen Company they have implemented three major rewarding systems: 1). Gain Sharing – where all members share a usually fixed percentage of the documented savings or performance gain accomplished by the team.
