Batas Militar

I Love You

...I love you!! I love you. These famous three words are associated with a very famous computer virus. The virus originated in the Philippines and was created by two young Filipino programmers. This computer virus infected tens of millions of computers and cost over $5.5 billion dollars in damages worldwide. The computers were infected so rapidly that in ten days 50 million computers were infected. The virus was successful at propagating because of several reasons. One of the main reasons was that the virus was sent by email and came from someone you know, as the virus sent itself to the first 50 contacts in Outlook. Since it came from someone that you knew people would open it without any thought. Another reason it was successful was that it depended on some of the vulnerabilities of the Operating System, in this case the file was a VBS script and Microsoft’s scripting engine was on by default. It was also good at confusing computer users because even if you were computer savvy the virus tried to mask its extension in the filename by using .txt in the name. the virus also was a pain because it ran at boot up and also replaced and damaged files in with these extensions. JPG, JPEG, VBS, VBE, JS, JSE, CSS, WSH, SCT, DOC, HTA, MP2, and MP3. It replaced the files with these extensions with copied of itself. . The virus also downloaded a Trojan. This was also a time that no one was worried about computer security so you can imagine the damage this computer virus did. Nowadays......

I Love Teaching

...I LOVE TEACHING "Treat people as if they were what they ought to be and you help them become what they are capable of becoming." - Goethe When you provide your students with the tools and encouragement of a "you can do it" attitude the heights they may reach are limitless and there is nothing I enjoy more than being a facilitator to this occurrence. I had such a wonderful experience being a college instructor that I just couldn't stay away for long. I can list off an endless amount of fun, memorable learning experiences that I had with each one of my phenomenal teachers, and I feel so blessed to have had such passionate educators to guide me along throughout these beginning years in my life and instill a love of learning that I have carried with me since then. I now teach because there is no other profession where you have smiling enthusiastic faces walk through your door each morning happy to be there and asking "What are we going to learn today?" I teach because these children are our future. Wherever their passion lies I hope to provide my students with a foundation that is strong and will supply them with all of the necessary tools to make all of their dreams and goals a reality. I teach because being a part of opening previously locked doors of information is a priceless feeling that cannot be achieved doing anything else. I teach because I truly want to make a positive difference in the world. "A hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove,...

I Love the Beatles

...I love the Beatles! I really love the Beatles. They are so great. I love listening to the all the time. My children also love listening to them. I can’t tell but I think that they might have been on drugs there for a few years while writing their songs. Lucy in the sky of diamonds seems like some crazy stuff was happening back stage!! Here is a small article I found on the beetles. Hope that you enjoy. “The Beatles also had seven other songs peppering the Hot 100 chart (there were a whopping 12 Beatles songs on that week’s Hot 100). That same week, The Beatles also held the top two spots on Billboard’s albums chart with Meet The Beatles! and Introducing…The Beatles. These U.S. chart records have never been broken!” “February 7th, 1964. The Beatles arrive in New York. Paul: "There were millions of kids at the airport, which nobody had expected. We heard about it in mid-air. There were journalists on the plane, and the pilot had rang ahead and said, 'Tell the boys there's a big crowd waiting for them.' We thought, 'Wow! God, we really have made it.' " Today marks the 50th anniversary of The Beatles' US debut. On this date in 1964, The Beatles flew together across the Atlantic for the first time, in hopes of cracking the USA - something no British band had yet managed to do. By the time the third and last of their first Beatles Ed Sullivan broadcasts aired - a little more than two weeks after their arrival - the band would be back home, having made broadcasting history and......

I Love You

...I start everything I write with a “I don’t know…” but this time I do. I know what it is that I want. And if I don’t get it then we can’t be what we are! Tintin I want you and I want you to want me the way I want you. I don’t like any bloody friend of yours. I don’t even find him good looking. I pretend so that I can spend time with you when we run out of topics in public. It is not like I was not living until you came along but now that I have met you, I have realized that how incomplete I was without you and how difficult it will be to go on without you. I see a future where we are together always. A place where we fight like siblings, argue like couples and care for each other more than anything in this world. I write when I am sad. And right now I am extremely sad. Behind these eyes I hide a lot of secrets and dark pasts. You know nothing about the life I have lived. I am not the really the happy-go-lucky girl. I am the quite little girl who is scared on the inside just coz I don’t want my heart to be broken again. Before I met you I had a guy in my life not a boyfriend but yes something very close to that. He hit me. I loved him more than anyone. He scattered my heart into a million pieces. I picked up the pieces and loved you. Loved you with whatever I had left. But not anymore, I can’t pretend to not love; I already am in love with you. You took my heart away the very first time you met me....

I Love Lucy Loves Stereotypes

...I Love Lucy Loves Stereotypes I Love Lucy is an American television series from the 1950s following the Lucy and Ricky Ricardo family. Ricky’s in show business and Lucy’s the housewife that tends to drive him crazy with all the trouble she gets into. Episode 23 in season 2, “Lucy Hires a Maid”, Ricky notices how overwhelmed and tired Lucy is with all the house chores and caring for their new-born son. He sends in a note to the employment agency for a maid but leaves the responsibility of interviewing and hiring her to Lucy. Lucy caves in to the first woman who arrives and this maid, Mrs. Porter, is the opposite of what they need; she eats all their food and is no help with the baby. Both Lucy and Ricky are terrified of her but in the end Ricky calls her up and fires her. Messages about gender in I Love Lucy illustrate that women should work inside of the house and men should work outside of the house because women are caretakers and men are money makers through Lucy’s status as a mother, Ricky’s status as breadwinner, and Lucy’s inability to act in a business fashion. Gender roles are very obvious in I Love Lucy, as Lucy acts like the “ideal” American housewife; she does not have a professional job and puts on a dumbfounded face whenever Ricky talks about business, politics, economics, or anything that does not relate to housework. Lucy takes complete care of Ricky Jr, their son. In episode 23, during season 2, Lucy tries to get Ricky to be the one to take care of the......

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sing

...Elisabeth Schauer Mary F. Lyons LCS 360 A March 4th 2014 The Importance of Religion throughout African Americans in the 1900’s Maya Angelou’s “I Know Why the Caged Birds Sing” and Solomon Northrup, “Twelve Years a Slave” are two memoirs with similar themes that encompassed their societies. These literally works depicts many life stories in which thematic concerns of religion, racism, chauvinism, education, poverty and seclusion carry an American dream. One quickly notices that they both relate in the way they pass out their different themes especially the theme of religion in this case. Religion is the main concern in this article considered for literary analysis. Therefore, the two authors used religion as part of their larger story to bring out a more or less the same thematic concept. Maya Angelou composed a stunning and energizing personal history titled “I know why the caged birds sing” of her hardship in her growth as a dark young woman in the southern states of America. Set in the 1930's the place the legacy of subjection remained. One thing, which made this literature work so fascinating to peruse, was the way that this book had such a variety of topics, which are both relative and imperative to us today like the absence of equivalent chances, prejudice, bias, training, neediness, seclusion, religion and The American Dream. On the other hand, in his work Solomon Northrup’s, “Twelve Years a Slave” shows the pain and ill-use encountered by Solomon Northrup in...

P.S. I Love You

... “P.S. I Love You” Cindy Sheldon ENG225: Introduction to Film Instructor: Sarah Snook September 7, 2013 “P.S. I Love You” Introduction: For this film critique essay I will be writing about the movie P.S. I Love You (2007). This paper will explore the storytelling, the actors as well as how they act in the film. We will explore the cinematography, editing, sound, and the style and directing for this movie. The last few things we will explore are the impact this film had on society (if any), the genre, what is the best way to analyze this film. When all these aspects of the movie are examined we will see how a script comes to life on the big screen. Storytelling: This film is shot in non-linear form, it starts with the present and throughout the movie we are given glimpses into the past. This story takes place in several different places which include Ireland and New York City. The main female character (Holly) experiences an internal conflict when her husband Gerry passes away from an illness at a very young age. Holly is able to resolve her conflict with help from her friends, family, and her deceased husband. The symbolism in this film is that love can overcome anything including death. For us, the viewers, relates to our human nature. If we are lucky we have all been able to experience the type of love that is portrayed in this film. That love that we never see coming, but hits us like a “ton of bricks”. The kind of love most of us only get to......

I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings

...I know Why the Caged Bird Sings is an autobiographical account of Maya Angelou that demonstrates how love for literature and having a strong character can play a significant role in overcoming racism and distress. In the course of the story, it is evident that Maya changes from being a casualty of racism to become a young woman with self-dignity and identity that helps her to overcome prejudice. The context of I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings focuses on the problems associated with racism that was prevalent in the southern states. Racist oppression is a common theme in the book that is portrayed by all the major characters; in fact, all the other themes in the book are closely related to racism, identity and segregation. In addition, the style and genre, and the structure of this literary work make significant contributions towards its thematic development, which focus on resistance to racism, the significance of the family, self-identity and definition and independence. Walker (95) argues that I Know Why the Cage Bird Sings is characterized by thematic unity, which is achieved using the structure adopted in the text that takes more of a thematic form rather than a chronological form. In addition, Angelou managed to emphasize on the universal ideas in her literary work irrespective of its periodic quality. In I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, Maya Angelou used the major characters of the book to facilitate its thematic development identity, racism and literacy throughout the......

...children, neighbors, colleagues — and even doctors at a nearby hospital. She has told investigators she was mocked as “fatty” in school and closed herself up at the farm with her father, who accepted her as she was. In court on Thursday, the prosecutor asked if she enjoyed being pregnant with her two daughters, Emiline, 28, and Virginie, 27, both present at the hearing. Cottrez replied, “Yes, for Emiline I liked it, but only for Emiline.” Dozens of forensic and psychiatric experts, police investigators and witnesses, including her husband, daughters and siblings, will take the stand to help understand the incomprehensible, and perhaps to help the defendant, who sobbed repeatedly during the first day’s hearing, to open up. A withdrawn, secretive nurse’s aide, Cottrez told investigators she was raped by her father, first when she was 8 and repeatedly through her childhood and teenage years, according to judicial documents. She later entered a long, incestuous relationship with him as an adult, including after she married, and said that it became consenting — and even said she was in love with her father more than she was with her husband. Her father died in 2007. One of the first witnesses called to the stand Thursday was Leonard Meriaux, who bought the Cottrez family house and discovered the first corpse in 2010. From one interrogation to another, the police went from surprise to stupor. Cottrez first admitted killing the two infants found in the garden. Then she......

Why I Love Pizza

...Why I Love Pizza – A Personal Essay About My Favorite Food Why I Love Pizza – A Personal Essay About My Favorite Food Posted by: I Dream Of Pizza in MiscellaneousNovember 21, 2008 Ever since I was a little boy, pizza has always had a special place in my heart. From pizza day in the school cafeteria to pizza parties at sleep away camp, there was nothing more exciting than when that cardboard box was opened to reveal a round pie with eight delicious slices waiting to be devoured. Early on I learned that everybody eats their pizza differently. There are those who fold their slices in half, those who eat their slices with two hands, and those who (dare I say) like to cut their pizza with a fork and knife. Some people soak up the olive oil with a napkin, while others don’t mind a greasy slice. Some people like the crust, while others live for that first bite. Some people decorate their slices with spices, while others like it plain. Nearly any ingredient can be put on pizza. From pepperoni and anchovies to barbecue chicken and pineapple, every pizza pie is like a unique work of art. Every pie is a different shape and size. There are thin crust pies, deep dish pies, and everything in between. There are pies with different cheeses and tomato sauce, or even pies with a completely different base altogether. Growing up in the suburbs of Washington, DC there weren’t so many great options for pizza. Ordering in from Domino’s and Pizza Hut was a weekly occurrence. But when I......
