God has been a very important part of my live since I was a very little girl. When I was only a couple of months old I was baptized. That was my first spiritual encounter with God. I then proceeded to commit my first communion in third grade. I then received my confirmation when I was in eighth grade. Like I said before God has been a very important part in my life for a very long time.

Who is God? What are his characteristics? I believe that God is the person who created me and he is the person I believe in. I also think that God is the creator of the world and that has control over everything that happens in my life. I think that some of God’s characteristics are that he has the ability to make things happen. I think that he makes certain things happen for a reason. I also believe that one of God’s characteristics is to be there for you in your time of need. I believe this because god knows what you can and cannot do. God is not going to give you something that he thinks that you are going to fail at, I believe that he is going to challenge us a human beings but I believe that he is going to challenge us with things that he knows that we can do.

A human being is a person that God puts on the earth to represent him in some way. I believe that God makes all human beings different because he wants us to be our own person but still reflect him in someway. I believe that when a person dies another person is born. I believe this because God is going to call people to heaven when he believes it is there time. I also believe this because God has a plan for everyone that he has put on this earth and he is going to follow that plan.

The nature of the universe is something that I do not really understand. I believe that the nature of the universe is what happens on the earth and how the earth was created. I…...

...Personal Responsibility Rough Draft An individual’s personality is made up of many different parts including personal responsibility. This can arguably be the most important part of one’s character because it can reveal who they really are. My level of personal responsibility shows to others the importance I place on every facet of my daily life. These can range from my ability to cope with rapid change, the importance I place on my education, and my level financial responsibility. These daily events, along with many others, require a great deal of personal responsibility. I believe that taking responsibility for my obligations not only shows others what kind of person I am, it also boosts my self-esteem and puts me at peace. Most people, including students, teachers, and others who work with deadlines know the relief that can only be felt when a large assignment or project is completed. Being responsible for my assignments, tasks, and other daily burdens rewards me with a strong sense of accomplishment, followed by peace of mind. Obtaining a college degree is undoubtedly one of the truest tests of endurance and dedication. Though most undergraduate students obtain their degree in four years, it can be completed in as little as three years. This is a prime example of benefiting from a strong sense of personal responsibility. A successful college career is the ultimate test of responsibility, consisting of strict deadlines and difficult exams with little to no......

After, my freshman year came my sophomore year. Things in my sophomore year just became even harder. Throughout my freshman year, I maintained to be focused in all my classes and asked questions when I was unsure of something. To me “failure was not an option”. That quote stuck with me because in middle school that was our quote. Here comes the problem where I wanted to give up on everything and not even try anymore. I felt as if school was a waste of time. I lacked in self-confidence and doubted myself even more. I couldn’t manage my time anymore because; my focus was always somewhere else. Essay 1 Rough Draft

...birth, it is important to note that developmental psychologists have concluded that a person’s understanding of what it means to be male or female develops through social interaction over time"(Latterell 6). So yes, we are what we are born with but our identity isn’t fixed, there is a process of learning involved that takes time. I was well aware of this when my son was born. I made it a point to teach him the things that a boy should know and I saw to it that he was around as many children as possible early on so that this learning could take place naturally as on its own. I’ve seen people hide their children from the world because of fears such as catching colds and afraid that their child might be hurt because the children might play too rough, but in my opinion this puts the child at a disadvantage in life because they were slow to learn the most basic things due to interaction with others. Then there are those who believe that identity is shaped by culture. This is, of course, true to a large extent. There are things that become a part of us due to the people in our lives and our surroundings that we will always possess. "Culture connects us by providing a shared set of customs, values ideas, and beliefs"(Latterell10). Our culture truly is what shapes us. I am proud of my culture. I was raised for the most part by my grandparents who lived on a farm. Growing up there taught me that in order to be successful we must work hard. We always grew large gardens, one was......

Rough Draft Comp 1

...Peter Patrick Composition Rough Draft 1 There are many people who have impacted my life and have inspired me to lead the life I live today. Among these people is my step-father, who came into my life at about the age of nine. Essentially, he has taught me how to be a man, and how to handle situations in such a way that a real, mature man would. He is one of the most dedicated and hardworking people I have ever known, and has shown me by example how I should act, work, and respect others. If it were not for him, I may or may not have some of the great qualities that he has imposed on me, merely by leading by example. My step-father stepped in at a crucial time for my family, and I learned to love him, especially for all the support he has always provided for us. He is the perfect example of the "Right Person, Right Place, Right Time," and my life would be much different if it were not for him. The moment he stepped into my life is the moment I would describe as a Kairos. This Kairos has shaped and molded my life into what it is now, and I can thank him for playing such a vital role. One factor of this Kairos is the ethos aspect. Through a showing of incomparable work and dedication, my step-father has exhibited rationale for me to follow his footsteps. A great level of respect and trust was placed into his hands when he came into my life, and he guided me by showing me how I should act and work, not by simply telling me what to do. I was asked to join him for a day of......

In both writings the authors used people, places and things to symbolize something extra, expanding the stories into more than just what is read. I chose these stories because they both consist of strong symbolic references to life. Each story was written in a third-person point of view and consisted of a journey made by the main characters, which in both cases happened to be a black woman. Although in one story the character was already dead and in the other, fighting death, there are many similarities between the stories told. In A Worn Path, Phoenix Jackson is an elderly woman that encroaches on what appears to be a physically demanding trek through the forest. Already, the symbolism begins with the name of the woman. ...Shawna Keehn HUM/130 Rough draft of final Religion has been important to many people throughout many years. I chose to do my paper on Judaism and upon doing so I learned that it is One of the oldest religions. The religion was founded within Israel and I Will compare it with the Hinduism religion.
