Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to define the styles of leaderships and particularly emphasizes on Richard Branson’s leadership style. Branson has challenged conventional management and leadership perception. Sir Richard Branson is considering one of the most unconventional business men of the 21st century.

Sir Richard Branson is a British entrepreneur best known for his Virgin Group over two hundred companies. His entrepreneurial projects started in music and extended to other sectors that make him a billionaire. He is one of the most successful global leaders of our recent time. His main philosophies are finding the right people for the right position, inspiring them and get out the best things out of them and help them to be successful leaders. Branson states “what makes someone good is how good they are at dealing with people. If you find people who are good at motivating others and get the best out of people, they are the ones you want” He sees life as a process of learning. He mentioned that if he experiences any kind of setbacks he always picks himself up and try again. I consider Richard Branson a transformational leader, a leader with new vision, confidence, motivation, challenge, ethical, daring, passion and determination. He listens to his followers concerns and empowers them and gives them attentions.
