Old Testament Bible Dictionary Project:

Genesis -
The book of Genesis has been said to have been written by Moses, while some people believe it to have been an anonymous author. Genesis goes as far back at 1445 BC. Some of the major people in Genesis are of course Adam and Eve, Cain and Able, Isaac and Rebekah, and of course Jacob’s wives and his twelve sons. Genesis reminds us that, “In the beginning God created the heaven and earth.” (Gen. 1:1) Also, “God created man in his own image, in the image of God created him, male and female created he them”

Joseph (son of Jacob)

Joseph was the son of Jacob and Genesis 37-50 focuses on his story and how God used him to move his family to Egypt. He was first son of Rachel and the eleventh son of Jacob. Jospeh was Jacon’s favorite son was given a “long coat of many colors”, because of this coat and the fact that Joseph was the favorite son his brothers hated him. At age 17 Joseph dreamed that his family would bow down to him, that caused his brothers to hate him even more and begin to plot on how to get rid of him. His brothers came up with a few ways to kill him but his oldest brother Reuben did not want him to die. They ended up selling him into slavery for twenty piece of slavery. The brothers then placed males goat’s blood on Joseph’s coat to convince their father that he was really dead. In prison Joseph was put in charge of the other prisoners. He came into contact with the Pharaoh’s chief cup bearer and chief baker, he interpreted dreams for them both. After being released the cup-bearer forgot about Joseph until two years later when the Pharaoh had a dream that disturbed him and he was unable to interpret it. The cup-bearer told the Pharaoh of Joseph’s skill and the Pharaoh…...

Sab 104

...SAB 104’s main topic is regarding revenue recognition and the various conditions that need to be fulfilled. This includes, persuasive evidence of an arrangement exists, delivery has occurred and services rendered, seller’s price is fixed/determinable, and collectability is reasonably assured. SAB104 also goes into frequent questions one may have about the conditions in which revenues are required. Persuasive evidence of an arrangement exists: When products are passed on to a 3rd party seller ( consignment arrangement) or distributed other wise, it does not qualify for revenue recognition. Only when the risk and rewards and ownership of a product is passed on to another party has a sale occurred. Even if the title changes hands, some factors need to be taken into account to consider revenue recognition. * When seller has the right to return items * When the seller has to repurchase products due to fluctuations in the environment, and seller is responsible for all fluctuations in cost incurred by the buyer. * When other countries don’t require the company to hand over title until payment has been received. * This is like consignment, so no revenue cannot be recognized till received. Delivery has occurred: * Risk has to have been passed on * Written documentation to prove commitment to purchase goods * Buyer requests bill and hold basis * Date of delivery must be consistent with the businesses purpose * Ordered goods are segregated...

...Cynthia Okebata Theo 104 Dr. Massey World view essay The very first time I heard about a world view, I questioned, what does that mean? I looked up the meaning in a dictionary based on the context. But it was still very unclear to me. I could not provide a very strong meaning of the word, “world view”. Due to the ordeal that I I was in while I was saved, I had no idea what it actually meant to be a true Christian and a child of God. But from that time hence forth, the lord has given me a better understanding of the word, “worldview”. I’m so thankful and grateful because the more I think about what I have learned from taking this class; the more excited I get about the plans God has for me now that I have a good knowledge of who I am in him. The joy of having a good understanding of who I am in Christ, guides and influences the way I think, what I know, and the way in which I perceive things that are around me. I work in a Nursing home facility I’m sent to do my job without any limitations God choose for me to work there for a purpose, So that I can help the sick patients in my own little way. I strongly believe that I am created by God, and he created me in a very special and exclusive way, he made me in a way that I would be able to fulfill a very special and distinctive responsibility on earth John 15:16 “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the......

Bib 104 Old Testament Bible Dictionary Project

...BIBL 104 February 15, 2015 Old Testament Bible Dictionary Project Genesis The book of Genesis is one of the better-known books of the Bible. Not only is it the first book of the Bible it is also the first documentation of our existence. The book was originally written in Hebrew with the title of bereshit, which means “in the beginning.” ( While the author of Genesis is never actually named, it is believed that Moses wrote the book of Genesis. In Acts 7:22 Luke recaps that Moses was trained in the “wisdom of the Egyptians” and was the only one who was prepared to integrate and understand the manuscripts and oral narratives in the Pentateuch. Only Moses was qualified enough to be given the task of writing Israel’s history. Genesis starts with our creation and spans “approximately 2400 years.” ( The book starts with God creating the heavens and the earth and ends with the Israelites arriving in Egypt and growing into a nation. This can be dated back to around 1800 B.C. The purpose and theme of the book is to reveal how the sin of man is met by the intervention and redemption of God and God’s choice of a nation through whom he would bless the nations. This is conveyed through several key people and events. The four greatest events in Genesis include the creation of the world and man, the fall of man when Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, Noah’s ark and the Great Flood, and the confusion of tongues. There are several main personalities in...

Tai Chi

...Module 5 Tai Chi Assignment Tai Chi, is a traditional Chinese martial art and a mind-body exercise that involves a series of fluid, continuous, graceful, dancelike postures, and the performance of movements known as forms. It works on breath control and muscle relaxation by having the person perform movements that are slow, controlled, and rhythmic. In the podcast Tai Chi Moving for Better Balance Movement 1-4 Jamie Goffena describes how to perform four Tai Chi movements. She discusses how to perform holding the ball, parting the wild horse’s mane, the single whip, and waving hands like clouds. I would say all of those movements are yang in style because they are slow large movements. She also discusses the importance of doing Tai Chi in a quiet, peaceful area so you can clear your mind. I think Tai Chi can benefit many people. It benefits the elderly because it helps them focus and use their mind. It also works on strength and deep breathing to help their lungs. I think young generations could benefit as well because it is a time you can relax and distress. Those with chronic back, leg, or other issues could benefit for the less strenuous activity. All in all I don’t think there is just one benefit of Tai Chi but many such as less strenuous, strengthening of mind and body, and relaxation. References Lindquist R., Snyder, M., Tracy, M. (2014).
