Reflection Paper- Yoga Soccer is one of my greatest passions. I play in three outside of school leagues. I play one game on Monday and two on Fridays. My sophomore year in high school I decided to try out for the soccer team and it change my future plans completely. After playing soccer for Edinburg North High school, I understood that I wanted to become a soccer coach. Currently, in college I started my Kinesiology curriculum and I have learned many things about the benefits of being physically fit. Aside from soccer, I enjoy getting involved in many other fitness activities. Some of the activities I like to be involved in are rock climbing, flag football, and running. This semester I decided to take the yoga class as an elective. I really liked that we got to learn many yoga poses that were easy to learn step by step, and that we can practice at home. Something I really is that we also learned many pilates poses. I can’t think of anything that I disliked this class was motivating to me in many ways. I loved the extra credit that was offered, and it makes us, the students, want to keep on doing this activities. I had never tried to do yoga before, but I had heard that it was very helpful for your body, mind, and soul. I didn’t engaged in yoga because ignorantly I felt it was not going to benefit me at all. After being in yoga class with professor Rocha, I understood that it was actually a though workout. Yoga can make you become stronger, flexible, toned, and helps a lot with stress. I plan to keep on doing yoga after the semester ends. I also been trying to get my parents to try it and get them into participating in yoga as I…...

...Reflection Essay In this picture I was three years old in my mom and real dad’s wedding. This day was probably one of the worst days of my life. I do not remember much about him, but what I do remember is not very well. It made me who I am today because I want to be nothing like him. When I was about five years old, I remember him taking off with me and my little sister and having my mom arrested. They were having some problems in their marriage, and they did not know how to work it out. The cops came to get me and my sister, and from there we went to my step grandmother’s house. She is the one that opened my eyes to who he really was. I mean think about it, what five year old knows about marriage. As I got older, I started to see more and more of what happened. They split up and got a divorce when I was about seven years old, and that was one of the best days of my life. I have always told myself that I will be nothing like him. Whatever he did, I told myself that I would do the exact opposite. When they got a divorse he was out of my life for about twelve years, and then he just popped up out of the middle of nowhere. This is when I learned who he really was. He was, or is, one of the biggest drug dealers in Memphis. I went to his house one summer with my sister and I was there for about three days; after that, I called my mom crying telling her to come get me because he was still on drugs. I did not want to be around it because I had known that it was nothing......

...My Final Reflection There are numerous aspects of this course that have contributed to my learning throughout this semester. This course has provided me with new skills that enhance both my writing ability as well as the ability to analyze a film. The two goals that stood out most were to learn to analyze and critically evaluate ideas, arguments, and points of view and to continue to develop skills in expressing oneself in writing. I benefited from these goals because I now have a deeper knowledge of different film genres and can correctly revise my essays. In order to display the progress made in my writing abilities throughout this semester I chose to revise and analyze Take Me Out to the Ball Game. This class introduced a new aspect of writing for me because I have never been required to analyze the scenes and themes of a film prior to taking this class. The film, Take Me Out to the Ball Game, is a musical comedy about a baseball team. My initial instinct was to classify this film as a simple sports film. However, after analyzing the film it was clear that there was more to it than just a sports perspective. The film had several other themes besides sports, two of which included patriotism and acceptance. It was very interesting to analyze the different relationships among the characters in this sport musical. Despite the different personalities of each character, I found it fascinating that they were so intertwined through their love for baseball and their country.......

...Reflective Essay The aim of this essay is to reflect on an incident, which took place in a hospital setting during the first month of my Foundation Degree Assistant Practitioner course. It will explore the importance of communication amongst the health care professionals and how a good nursing documentation is an integral part of nursing. It will also demonstrate how reflection enabled me to make sense of and learn from this experience, as well as identify any further learning developments needed to improve my practice and achieve the level of competency needed for when I qualify as an assistant practitioner. While discussing the knowledge underpinning practice, evidence based literature will be reviewed to support my discussion and for the purpose of reflection the essay will be written in the first person. Spouse, J, et al (2008). Jonhs, C (2009) defined reflection as learning through our every day experiences, towards realising one’s vision of desirable practice as a lived reality. He also added that it is a critical and a flexible process of self inquiry and transformation of being and becoming the practitioner you desire to be. However, Ghaye, T et al. (2000) stated that for the health care professionals to develop a more reflective posture, they must fully embrace both the principles and the practices of reflection. It is about becoming more aware of how we learn and how this affects what we think, feel and do. There are different models for reflection; some are......

...Reflection Essay This first semester of my freshman has been a very interested trip indeed. I have learned so much in the short amount of time that I have spent here at Georgia Southern University. I feel as if I have grown, not only as a student, but as a person as well. I have met many new people, made many new friends, and learned many new things. I have so much in my English class. I thought I knew everything there was to know about writing, but I was very wrong. However, I have now learned how to improve on my writing skills, how to write better grammatically correct sentences, and how to use better verb usage. When I came into this semester as a freshman I was very confident in the caliber of my writing. However, my ego was soon crushed shortly thereafter. Even though my writing skills had been very good amongst my fellow peers in high school, at the university level they were merely average. I had to do something quick to learn how improve on my writing skills. With the help of my teacher, I have made tremendous improvements and strides on my writing skills. I believe that I am writing the best papers that I have ever written in my life. I am avidly anticipating the beginning of next semester when I take English 1102, because I cannot wait to see my writing skills improve again. When writing, it is very important that your sentences are grammatically correct. Nothing can ruin a paper faster than a couple of incorrect grammatical errors. I was good about not......

...Reflection Growing up in a small rural Ohio town, I attended Presbyterian Church with my parents for as far back as I could remember. Every Sunday we would gather and hold service with our tiny congregation. The thought of seeing family members was more important at the time than worshiping God to me as a little boy. Today, many beliefs, morals, and traditions have resulted from those years as a child in that little church. Despite growing up with such a tight knit religious community, today community does not hold the same value it once did. I have grown into the belief that I can worship God without needing to actually be present for Sunday church. The ability to pray and talk to God can be done outside the confines of the church walls in my eyes. Many have said that you must attend church services to truly feel god, but I feel that being in the church does not make God’s voice any louder. Being Presbyterian does come with its central myths. These myths come directly from the bible, as do most Christians. The stories of the resurrection, the Ten Commandments, the creation of the Earth in a week, and of course the first humans; Adam and Eve. These bring back fond memories of listening to exciting tails from the bible. I would set in children’s bible study hanging on every word the teacher read. Like most religions, Presbyterians have religious rituals. Communion and baptism are the most common. I was baptized when I was a child, as were my younger......

...The Goal The book reflects a lot on my school work and personal life. It talks about operations management, bottlenecks, and experiences that put those concepts into practice. In this essay, I want to focus on my response specifically on constraints and how it applies to my experiences in life. The Theory of Constraints takes on the idiom “a chain is no stronger than it weakest link.” The book refers the weakest link as “Herbie.” This means that the weakest person can have a negative impact to the whole and ultimately damage the outcome. This definition shocks me a little because I’ve always thought a company or a team can function smoothly even with a bottleneck. There is always going to be someone (or something) that works less efficiently than average. Similarly, there is always going to be someone (or something) that works more efficiently than others and can pick up the slack for the team. Eventually everything averages out and we produce enough outcomes to meet our goals. However, that is not the case because the performance of the whole team is not determined by the star player, but by the “Herbie” player in the team. As a third year commerce school student, I’ve had a lot of opportunities to work on different group projects. Every time the professor releases the new teams, most people hope they have someone that is good in finance, strategy, or accounting (depending on the project) in their group so he/she can carry the team. However, after reading the book, I......

...English 1320 Unit 11 Exercise 1: Reflection Essay Antonio Parks R. Schaffer 03/06/14 I really didn’t care for writing at all before this course. I had not written anything longer than a sentence in over 35 years. My mind was clouded and I didn’t take time to write. When asking me “What type of essay had I written before this course”? My response is very simple. I have not written anything, well if you count writing a journal in the 8th grade then that would be it. My writing has improved immensely. I can write and wasn’t aware that I could. The essay that was the easiest to write for me was the memoir. I found that writing about something that I knew about gave me more control over my audience. The essay that would have been the hardest for me would have been romance. I guess I’m not quit in touch with my other side to write romance. My attitude toward writing at the end of the course is one of great interest. I have learned to enjoy it. I believe if I actually spent the time to write, I could get lot better and enjoy it more. Using my ePortfolio in the future will help me prepare for the job market in the future. Listing my classes, accomplishments, and posting my resume are the primary reasons for the portfolio. Thank you Mr.Schaffer for helping me realize again how important writing is in my everyday life. I will do my best to continue to grow....

...Unit 11: Reflection Essay At the start of this semester my feelings towards writing altogether was extremely negative, whether it was writing a short one paragraph letter or a five page essay I wanted nothing to do with it. Never seeing the point, I have always had a hard time just starting the essay. I could not find the inspiration to write what was needed to create the work of literature my teacher expected of me. With that being said, I can honestly admit that I have never actually completed any writing assignments out of class and next to none of the assignments done in class. Needless to say I have probably failed all but one year in English classes, and the one I passed was because the teacher received a death threat from a student and left the school. Most of the teachers simply spent his/her time keeping me in line so as not to distract the other students. This semester, however, I definitely feel my writing has improved. I have a better understanding of how to structure my entire paper, whether its sentence structure or paragraph layout, what parts of speech should not be used in a paper and to limit my use of contractions. This class has also taught me to spend more time outside of school working on perfecting my work which I plan to take into later classes. All of these changes were made possible because for the first time I had a teacher who was able to make the subject enjoyable and fun. I definitely had the easiest time with the assignments that allowed me......

...care team, clients, and families collaboratively consider care options, plan treatment approaches, reach consensus about treatment decisions, conduct treatment activities, and evaluate clinical outcomes. (2011, p. 75) From the statement it is clear as to why therapeutic communication is essential in health care as it is there to ensure the best care possible is given to the patient. In the video Pregnancy Stroke, Sally, the client presented to the hospital, the relationship between Sally and the Radiographer is the relationship I have chosen to focus on and I will discuss and reflect on how therapeutic communication is shown between the health care provider, the client and her family. To reflect on this scenario I will be using Driscoll’s Reflection Cycle (Driscoll, 2007) and I will explain the What, So What and Now What component of the video relating to therapeutic communication. In the video David the Radiographer is in charge of giving Sally her CT Scan requested by the doctor he has a lack of therapeutic communication skills and this is clearly shown when he discovers Sally is unable to communicate with him. For Sally she has a lack of communication skills due to her stroke and for the radiographer he struggles to adapt and modify his communication style to suit her needs. It is vital that a health care provider can change their therapeutic communication skills to accommodate for their patient’s circumstances. From the situation several ways the radiographer could......

...Unit 11 Exercise 1: Reflection Essay Over the course of these last eleven weeks I have discovered more about my writing skills than I thought I had. In the beginning I had neutral feelings about how well I would do in this course. I’ve always known that I had good writing techniques, but have been out of school for over 10 years and wasn’t sure if I could still write like how I used to. When I was in high school I remember writing essays, research papers, and even memoirs but was only the basics of how to properly write. It gave me practice on my vocabulary as well as sentence and paragraph structure. It also allowed my imagination and thoughts to come out on paper and let the reader indulge in my stories. But how good of a writer was I? After taking a course called Composition 1 in college, I found that my writing skills; even though pretty good, had to be improved. I feel that my writing has improved due to learning how to properly brainstorm ideas and set up my research findings before I put them on my final paper. I also learned how to cite my findings which is a skill they don’t stress about in High School. Writing Essays, or Research Papers aren’t difficult for me, however I must say that writing a Memoir would have to be the most difficult because I don’t like talking about myself let alone have people know personal details of my life. Now that I’m at the end of my course in Composition 1 My attitude and feelings toward writing now has changed. I feel more...

...Reflection Essay #2 Populations-at-Risk America is the richest country in the world but, yet we are so poor. There are millions of Americans who are unemployed or underemployed. I believe it starts with education. Higher education is more important now more than ever. Everyone should be afforded the same opportunity to go to college and achieve a degree. Education is the key to success and should be more affordable. A quality education would provide a better life and better opportunities for all Americans. I would promote and be an advocate for social and economic justice by ensuring every student receives the same quality education, starting in elementary schools. Elementary schools need to be better equipped with all the tools students need to be successful. There should be enough books and computers for every child. I would require more art and music classes so student’s creativity will be allowed to flourish. There would be smaller classrooms so students are able to have a personal connection with the teachers. Teachers will be able to have more one on one time with each student, and be able to give more attention to any students who are struggling in a certain area. Elementary schools should ensure that all students get the tools they need for future success. Good teachers are essential in the success of students. Teachers play an important role in the lives of students. Therefore there should be more highly qualified and motivated teachers. Teachers......

...Reflection Essay How has your view of theology changed over the past eight modules/weeks? My view of theology has been changed in many ways in the last eight weeks. There has been much clarity of scripture and my life as a Christian. I have always struggled with many points of view such as salvation, hell, and even sin. My own theological thought process has been given a new view of my own walk with Christ. This has enabled me to share Gods word with others with more confidents as I have gain more knowledge. Views that I would have never considered or explored; have given me a new spirit of excitement into Gods word and his plan for all mankind. I also believe that it has allowed me to let my “guard down” to other views other than my own. I have grown a new found love for scripture that I never thought I would have, even though I have been reading the good book since I was young. Since those day I have been exposed to multiple views of Christianity, like the Jehovah Witness view. Yet these views made reading scripture less appealing since they all take different approaches of scripture and give off many false interpretations. How have you been able to put into practice the principles you learned from the course? Funny thing is that ever since I have started this course there have been many times that the Lord has granted me the opportunity to discuss these topics with many people I come across. One of these topics happen to be “Hells best kept secret” by Ray Comfort...

... Reflection Essay Student’s Name Institution Affiliation Date Reflection Essay Firstly, in the course of the semester, the discussions we had in class allowed us to talk about my thoughts and those of my cohorts. Simultaneously, the studies helped to shape my initial experiences into a more unpredictable comprehension of the content. As I added to my perusing attitudes and insight into what literature is about, I have developed the capacity to make necessary disclosures about anything that I write or even read. Secondly, the academic resources from my lecturers gave us the foundation information that we need to excel in writing, both on reading the class resource books, extensive lectures, and independent research. Likewise, they have assisted us to exhibit our thoughts in a contemplated and thoughtful analysis. On a frequent basis, they would instruct us on points that they have a particular enthusiasm for and have taken a shot at broadly. Their exploration and analysis can be considered as the foundation stage of our interest in writing. To start with, in the contemporary society, there is by all accounts a move towards auxiliary school subjects that have a solid connection to a tertiary course of study. Hence, a there are few parents and a few understudies who feel that the aspect of writing, particularly among high schools, college, and universities is of great importance. For instance, students who devote their time on just English Language alone, with its......

...required ENG 105 course. Immediately, I thought that this course would be easy because all we will do is write essays. I thought I would be fully prepared by just going over Grammar rules and standardized test tips. In retrospect, after I have attended the class for almost the entire semester, I never expected to learn a new process of writing. During my time at high school, we never went over multiple stages of reflections, revisions, or writing skills. I usually just wrote for my enjoyment or for an assignment. I strongly believe that if I had learned these processes in high school, my papers would have benefitted greatly. As this semester comes to an end, I look back at everything I have accomplished in this class. I have acquired many writing techniques through annotations, in – class assignments, and multiple essays. Because of this, I have improved tremendously as a writer. Throughout the time I have spent in this writing course, I was reminded of how effective writing can be. As I further analyze my writing, I realized that I have learned how to become a real writer. The essays included will demonstrate the tremendous amount of strength I have gained in writing this semester. I believe that I am good organizing my writing in terms of placement and topics of each body paragraph. An example of this is in my first essay about my literacy sponsors. I organized the essay by beginning each body paragraph with a sentence that corresponds to the last sentence of the paragraph......

...Comparative Religion Reflection Essay Reflection Essay My Religion and Malloy’s Eight Elements I was born and raised in the Lutheran Church with a strong belief system. As of recent years, I have opted to not attend church services, but still feel very strong about the beliefs that I was raised with. There are a few beliefs that I was raised with that I don’t buy into, such as the belief that god created earth and all things on it in 6 days. There is far too much scientific evidence to suggest that evolution has and is constantly taking place. Despite this, I do thing that our belief system plays a very important part in my life. For me, community does not play as big of a role in my belief system. I tend to believe that one does not necessarily need to attend church to worship god. I do that every day in my daily life. I am so thankful for my friends, family, life and everything in it. This has been my dad’s feeling for a very long time and I tend to follow him. We do have several central myths that we believe in. All of these myths are told in the bible and are stories that we learn from the time we are young children. I remember going to bible camp when I was in elementary and junior high school. We would go for a week and always on the last night of camp, the counselors put on what was called the Passion Play. The play was the story of the last few days of Jesus’ life, his crucifixion, and how he rose from the dead. I have such vivid memories of...
